During the critical appraisal stage of your literature search, it's vital to assess the research quality of the study you are reviewing.

As you review a study, check whether the design, data collection methods and analysis are appropriate for answering the research question. Also consider the sample size, statistical analysis, consistency with existing literature, clarity of reporting and ethical considerations.
