Sales Support Administrator

We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated Sales Support Administrator for a 12-month fixed term contract. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing administrative and sales support to our small and very busy Sales & Partnerships team, and will report in to the Head of Sales & Partnerships. 

The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with a salary of £19,000-£22,000. This position is based at home with occasional travel required to attend meetings within the UK. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Comprehensive desk research to find names and contact details of individuals at key organisations.
  • Inputting data and updating the company CRM system, creating and running reports as and when required.
  • Using company sales tools to compile lists of prospects for both the corporate and academic markets worldwide.
  • Working with the Head of Sales to create prospecting campaigns to generate new business in both the corporate and academic markets.
  • Following up enquiries in a timely manner and providing prospects with compelling product messages to help win new business.
  • Identifying suitable partners in the area of membership organisations.
  • Other admin/sales support work as and when required.

Previous experience – essential:

  • Proficient in all Microsoft programmes
  • Experience of updating and maintaining excellent CRM records
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Inquisitive, tenacious approach to problem solving.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Previous experience of working in a sales support position, helping to drive new business
  • An interest in food science/nutrition
  • A full UK driving license

Treasurer (for Board of Trustees)

We are currently recruiting for a  Treasurer with a background in financial management, investment and defined benefit pension schemes to join the IFIS Board of Trustees. We are looking for someone who holds, or has recently held, a senior finance position and has some familiarity with charity finances. Please see the recruitment pack for details of the role, background about IFIS, and how to apply. 

This is a voluntary role that involves attending quarterly meetings and providing occasional advice and support. No previous experience of serving on a Board is required, as we will provide training. The role involves [1] contributing to the strategic direction of our organisation and [2] ensuring that management are delivering relevant and effective support to scientists, technologists and engineers around the world. There are also formal statutory duties associated with the role, which are detailed in the job descriptions.
