Inside Sales Executive

Salary: £25-£30K, plus commission
12-month contract with a view to becoming permanent; full-time - 37 hours per week
Hybrid office/home working

The role:

We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated Inside Sales Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to our Head of Sales & Partnerships, this position requires effectively working prospects from both the academic and corporate markets through the full sales cycle, from identifying suitable prospects, developing and implementing prospecting campaigns, to negotiating and closing sales with new customers and achieving the agreed targets.

This is a hybrid working position and we will consider applications from those based anywhere in the UK who are able to travel regularly to the office in Berkshire. Other flexible working options will be considered.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and creating new business opportunities through telephone and electronic based sales activities
  • Creating and implementing campaigns to potential new customers
  • Creating a pipeline of strong sales opportunities and closing new business deals, ensuring sales targets are met/exceeded
  • Working with the marketing team to align campaigns and track performance
  • Proactively identifying sector specific opportunities, suggesting marketing and sales campaigns to support further sales leads/growth
  • Ensuring all customer and sales information is accurately recorded in a timely manner
  • Reporting regularly on pipeline opportunities
  • Proactively contributing ideas, suggestions and customer feedback to improve processes

Knowledge and experience:

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of generating new business within the Publishing industry. They will have experience selling to both academic and corporate organisations.


  • Business to business sales experience (new business)
  • Ability to work successfully to sales targets
  • Familiar with CRM systems and Microsoft programmes
  • A strategically driven approach to winning new business through nurturing relationships and growing your network of stakeholders within a business
  • Good organisation and administration skills
  • Close attention to detail and excellent telephone manner
  • Positive approach to problem solving
  • Sales orientated with an energetic and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Excellent listener with strong communication skills

  • Experience of selling scientific research to academic and corporate markets
  • Experience in solution selling
  • An interest in food science/nutrition

Marketing Campaign Manager

Salary:£20,676 to £24,324 per annum (equivalent to a full-time salary of £34,000-£40,000)
Permanent; part-time - 22.5 hours per week. Pattern to be agreed with line manager
Hybrid office/home working (expectation to be in the office one day a week)

The role:

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on marketer who enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team. You will report to the Head of Marketing and Engagement, and will play an important role in our plans to deliver growth.  

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Create and execute campaigns for lead generation and other objectives, across the marketing mix 
  • Help qualify leads and provide to the sales team 
  • Create content and utilise HubSpot's marketing automation for effective, efficient lead nurturing 
  • Collaborate to develop effective, engaging, customer-focused messaging, communicating the benefits and value of services 
  • Utilise content marketing assets to engage with community 
  • Work with team on targeting and positioning, using customer insights and market understanding 
  • Experiment, monitor and analyse success, continuously working to optimise results and the return on investment 
  • Share your learnings, thoughts and insights with your marketing colleagues and the wider team

Required skills and experience:

  • Business to business (B2B) marketing experience 
  • Demonstrated success with lead generation and nurturing 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting 
  • Customer-focused 
  • Analytical and results-driven 
  • Works well independently and as a team 
  • Proactive 
  • Keen to innovate and improve on campaigns and processes 
  • Able to plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines 
  • Flexible and enjoys a varied role 
  • Knowledge of legal requirements (e.g. GDPR) and how to comply
