Predatory journals are a growing area, and it can be challenging to identify legitimate journals for references and publishing. We have developed a solution to help, adding even more value to the library - the Journal Look Up Service.

The JLS help you support authors in finding the right journal for their research and avoiding predatory journals. This helps reduce the risk of wasted time and funding, and reputational damage. 

The JLS is based on FSTA's quality-checked coverage list, so you can be confident in the search results' quality, integrity and relevance to the sciences of food and health.

Verify a journal is credible, using the Journal Look Up Service

Search IFIS's database of indexed journals. Every journal in the FSTA database has gone through IFIS's quality checks, so you and your library users can be confident it is peer-reviewed and not predatory.

Identify and understand the range of key term variations using the Keyword Recommendation Service

Our keyword recommendations are taken from the FSTA thesaurus, the most comprehensive food and beverage thesaurus in the world. This is used for indexing records in FSTA, the specialist research database for the food community. So you can be sure that the results you find will be trustworthy.

Provide guidance on navigating the publishing process

Our publishing guide is a useful resource to help you help researchers. It is available to read or watch online.
