22 February 2023, Wokingham – IFIS today announced the appointment of Katy Askew as Managing Director.
Katy has 19 years of experience in publishing, with the last 16 years in the food sector, specialising in innovation, nutrition and sustainability.
Her most recent experience is as Senior Editor, Food Europe, overseeing William Reed’s flagship FoodNavigator brand alongside a portfolio of four category-specific vertical publications. Katy has led a team of experienced journalists working in locations across Europe to produce daily, weekly and monthly content across written and multimedia formats, including videos, podcasts and webinars.
She has a demonstrable record of growing readership and audience engagement, and profitable digital innovation and product development.

Founded in 1968, IFIS is a not-for-profit publisher and educational charity committed to supporting those studying and working in the sciences of food and health by making it easier to access industry-specific research that can be trusted; preserving integrity and accuracy in the fields of food and beverages; and furthering learning and development across the world.
IFIS produce FSTA, an interdisciplinary database of scientific and technological information relating to food, beverages and nutrition. FSTA is used in universities, food companies and government bodies all over the world, including 7 of the top 10 universities for food science (Shanghai ranking, 2022). They produce IFIS Collections - curated collections for researching specific food sectors and topics, such as Dairy, Food Packaging, and Nutritional Science jointly with The Nutrition Society.
