The Food Regulatory & QA Summit takes place every fall in Toronto and is currently in its 10th year. The summit gathers food industry professionals from both Canada and the United States to discuss current issues facing the sector.

The annual summit brings together over 100 food professionals to discuss food regulation topics and challenges including: Addressing CFIA Processes, Improving Import & Export Compliance Practices, labeling, Cannabis edibles, Enhance Traceability in Your Supply Chain and more. IFIS has partnered once again for this year's edition.

This is the only event in Canada to attract leaders from across North America to tackle regulatory issues facing both Canada and the USA. The event features a keynote session by the CFIA on Building Safer Food Systems: Inclusion of Risk Analysis to Prevent Recalls and another from CAPI on Legitimizing Claims of Sustainability for Industry Compliance.

If your company import/exports from/to the US, you will need to understand what the requirements for Foreign Supplier Verification are so you will not experience any business interruption.

The event offers over 18 hours of networking, 7 case studies, panels, interactive session SFCR vs FSMA, and more than 30 speakers. Featured speakers on the program include:

  • Peter DeSouza Director National Import Service Centre, CFIA
  • Andrea Papamandjaris Director, Medical, Scientific, and Regulatory Affair Nestle Canada INC
  • Don Buckingham President and CEO Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute (CAPI)
  • Kevin Urbanic Chief Inspector - Ontario CFIA
  • Dana McCauley Director new Venture Cre4ation, University of Guelph

This year’s summit takes place October 29-30, 2016 in Toronto at the Old Mill Hotel.
