Introducing Carol joins us as our new Business Development Manager.
Before joining IFIS I worked for Pearson for four and a half years, responsible for their Higher Education business in the North of England, Scotland and Ireland. Prior to Pearson I was with Emerald for eight years in sales, looking after both academic and corporate/public sector customers.
I have nearly 13 years of experience working in the Publishing industry but I also ran my own recruitment agency for a number of years so I believe I bring a mix of publishing sales experience and an entrepreneurial spirit!
My role at IFIS is to develop business internationally, focusing on our FSTA and Escalex products. I am building relationships with vendor partners and key stakeholders and I love that I am meeting new people and strengthening relationships in an industry that is close to my heart. I believe that we are what we eat, food affects our bodies and minds and is such an important part of life, so being employed by a company that has food science at the heart of all it does is fantastic! I am also very proud to be working for a not-for-profit organisation that provides free or low-cost access to food information for people in developing countries.
I love to exercise! I enjoy circuit training, HiiT and running and try and get out and do a class or run every day if possible. I also love cooking (and eating), travelling and being around the people who enhance my life!
That’s a tricky one – I love to cook, everything from curry to cake (although mainly savoury foods) but I will say a roast dinner, because being from Yorkshire I would say you can’t beat a good Yorkshire Pudding and gravy!
